Jubail Island awards $10.9mn contract to APCC for marina in Abu Dhabi

APCC will be responsible for the construction of the quay wall and associated infrastructure along Jubail Marina’s edges and platforms

Jubail Island Investment Company (JIIC) has awarded Al Zafra Pipeline and Contracting Company (APCC) a $10.9mn (AED40mn) contract for its new 66-berth marina in Marfa Al Jabeel, due for completion by mid-2023.

Considered one of Abu Dhabi's leading ground engineering contractors, APCC will be responsible for the construction of the adjacent wall and associated infrastructure along the marina's walkways and platforms.

JIIC said the marina is being built within Marfa Al-Jabal as part of Marina District. AE7, a design consultant, designed the concept and schematic design of the waterfront district.

The project is expected to be handed over by mid-2024. The project within the district, scheduled to open in October 2022, will consist of 41 townhouses and 18 apartments. These will be located in a building block, surrounded by mangroves and wildlife.

Additionally, there will be two types of townhouses including G+1 and G+2, both townhouses and apartments will be available with three bedrooms, with an area of ​​more than 290m2.

In addition to the townhouses, the project will have a yacht club complex and boardwalk that will include restaurants, alfresco cafes, and eateries.


Jubail Marina: A landmark destination

According to Eng. According to JIIC Operations Corporate Director Abdullah Saeed Al Shamsi, the project will be part of the social attractions and amenities within the island.

"The signing of the agreement reinforces JIIC's commitment to develop a historic destination and an upscale maritime community synonymous with luxury living," he said.


The AED10 billion island project, owned by JIIC and managed and developed by LEAD, will be an elegant collection of six village residential properties located between Yas Island and Saadiyat Island.

In May this year, global real estate advisor CBRE was appointed by JIIC to lead the leasing strategy and leasing of the day-to-day retail components within Phase 1 of Jubilee Island.


Spread over 500 hectares, the master plan will offer a wide range of F&B outlets and facilities, including a beach club, a business centre, a sports centre, schools, supermarkets, nurseries, community clubs, specialized clinics and others. . . . . Commercial enterprises, with the first stage. The project will be completed by the end of 2023.

Earlier this year, JIIC also marked the completion of the construction of the main bridge connecting the Jubail Island project to the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Highway (E12), which will become the main entry route to Jubail Island.

The bridge provides easy, direct access to Jubilee Island as well as proximity to public parks, open spaces and cycling tracks.
